Folding Table Napkins: Ship, Fish, Hare
Ship napkin
Ship
Looks unusable, slightly asiatic elegance. But it's very easy!
Let the napkin be together in the square. Fold the edge with the four layers diagonal
to the top. The result is a triangle.
Fold the right and left edge to the imaginary dotted line. Should look like the following drawings.
Clap the overlaping edge back away.
und nach hinten klappen.
Just seperate the individual layers and the ship is sailing!
You'll need this form later for the swan.
Fish
Fish
Your guests will you give the glad eye if you fold a napkin so for your next fish dinner! The eye of the fish is a pearl or a colored glass stone. The disadvantage of this napkin form is that it is flat - and takes effect only for small celebrations.
First open the napkin completely. Fold back a 1 inch stripe border.
Fold one half backwards.
Fold the lower part through the break upwards, so that the background part is visible.
Please handle this task with care, moste people stuck in here. Hold the lower border with
your finger. Lead the right edge (two layers) to the left edge, but still hold your finger.
Now results a triangle, it should look like the image here. Then fold the upper "ear" again to
the right.
Same procedure on the other side. Hold the lower part of the napkin, lead the left two layers to
the right.
The ear belongs to the left side.
Turn the folded part down to the edge and turn the napkin to backside.
Fold the lower squares diagonal to the middle - these parts are the fins.
Now again the upper part same as the other fold downwards and put it under the layer.
Rotate the napkin back to front - you're done!
Hare
Hare
Ok, you've learned in a tough school, and now you're ready for this napkin art work.
First open the napkin completely and fold an edge diagonal to a triangle. Puth your finger
to the top, hold it like with the fish napkin form, and fold one layer of the middle of the
right side to the middle of the left side. There results a crease-like fold.
Clap this fold back to right. Do the same at the other side: middle left to middle right, and
the resulting "ear" back to left.
Now it will be very difficult: take the upper layer of the bottom edge and pull it slightly
with feeling to the top, while holding the lower layer on the edge. During this action the
borders of the napkin are folding themselves, a narrow rhomb appears.
Turn the napkin to backside.
Put the upper layer of the lower square about one inch down of the line left-edge to right-edge
inside. Now you'll look at the ears of the hare.
Clap the right layer up and fold itself half inside.
Same procedure on the left side.
Turn the napkin to backside.
Fold through the line forward to you.
Clap the resulting figure along the dashed line backwards and rotate slightly.
Pull the ears of the hare a little bit upwards and press again.
The tail is made like this: Make a crease at the dotted lines, fold at the front line inside,
at the back line outside.
Open the ears that the hare can hear you and you've done!
